Magnetic Door Cards

Just to let you know that finally a design has been agreed upon for the door cards and they are going to print.

The design has remained pretty much the same as the old but with the addition of the new MX5 oc logo.

The cost will be £25 a pair (Ian please correct if I am wrong on this)

Please let me, Ian, Jill or Bill know ASAP if you would like a pair so that we get a feel for the number to order.

The more that have them the  better, we need to fly the Flag for Peaks and Pennines where ever possible.

A big thank you for Ian as well for picking this up and sorting. Very Happy

Cheers Bryn

Needless to say I would like a pair Ian

Yes please, put me down for a pair.

Here is a possible alternative design for the door stickers. No difference in cost, bit MX-5 Owners club only appears once. The logo would of course be better quality than shown here. The lettering and border would all be in the same blue as the club logo. Let me know which one is prefered by Monday morning and we should have them by the end of next week.

i definately prefer the ones with the red mx5 logo on, not the second one ian has just offered, no offence Ian, just think it stands out more.
silver haired devil

just a thought, didnt someone mention putting contact details on the door cards? web address or something, if we supposed to be raising awareness, and people see us passing by, yes they know who we are, but not what to do about it if they want to join us ?

as i said, just a thought.
mummypennine

Yes that would be another option and yes I agree the first one stands out more but I see what Ian is saying. The web address would be a very good idea though I have put it to Bill and Bryn see what they think. Mummy
trev-n-trish

I`m with Pete on this one; the first option stands out the best.
Roadster Nut Bryn

I prefer the first option like everyone else.

Its fair to comment though about the web address but in reality think about it.

Any font size on that door card is going to be too small to read if we are passing someone for example, and if we are parked then the sign does the job and draws the interest and then we hand out a leaflet with the web address on it. Of cousre we are not forced to be with the cars all the time but I think thats as much as we can expect from them.

Difficult one Confused
Roadster Nut Bryn

Plus I would add that the url (address) for Peaks and Pennines doesn't follow the usual convention for websites. Well it does but its not as common.

E.g

http://pp.mx5oc.co.uk/ Is the url (address) for our site.

Most folk and not suprisingly are used to the www.name.co.uk etc.

so seeing

http://pp.mx5oc.co.uk or pp.mx5oc.co.uk (which will also work) on the cars will only confuse.
EmandI

No offence taken, we will go with what is most popular. With regards to contact details, there will be no problem, and no cost implications as long as we use one of the existing colours. If I could have a layout as soon as possible I will get them incorporated. Probably see you Sunday, weather and "man flu" permitting. Smile
Roadster Nut Bryn

"man flu" not you as well, it like the plague this cold thing.

Thoughts on this version.

I have added the logo without the repeat of owners club and added web url.

A little messy but see what you think.

Kevin,

Joining us sunday?

Tunnel run  Twisted Evil

I dont think the club allows us to split the logo. There is an option to use the outline and words only. If mummy can forward you the pdf of the rules we could discuss it this evening. Confused
EmandI

Ok, the original it is then. That is the old one with the logo added just above the big red MX-5. No problem. Very Happy
Roadster Nut Bryn

Lets go with orginal then. Very Happy
stupotvfr

i hope you adhere 100% to the highway code as any annoyed roadusers will be able to track you down in no time !!!!!!! i speak from experience from carrying company logo on the vehicle !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Roadster Nut Bryn

Good point well made Very Happy
silver haired devil

in that case leave the contact details off then. i have had same with company van, bloody lorry drivers !!!

someone could always trace us through the owners club anyway if they really wanted to.
greendrifter

how about a laminated weatherproof sheet of A4, left on the windscreens behind wiper blades or similar with info & web site details for when we park up on outings but don't stay with the cars.

just a thought  Exclamation  i don't get many Twisted Evil if this is something people think may work i can knock up some of these at work.

What you talking about stu we are all perfic arnt we? Mummy Rolling Eyes

I think the URL should be right at the bottom. Usualy I see them at bottom of the logo. +, it needs to be a simple font (i.e. arial or so) to be easy to read.
What do you think?

Regarding the tracking thing, as Pete mentioned, they can track us through mx5oc, we have a logo of mx5oc and ID plate...
As these cards are magnetic, you can only put them on for meeting and runs if you want to keep a certain privety...
stupotvfr

well that created some banter anyway..it was not to be taken so literally people ! of course you can be traced by the VIN plate even i know that.
save some banter for the runs out maybe.....i am sure you are all perfect drivers but not too sure about the racket awakening the sleepy villagers on a sunday morning.dont blow the tunnel out..i am out on the bike sunday so i will stay in West Yorkshire to retain my hearing !!!!!

A bikers forum/club that I'm a member has a similar set up but we call them eyeball cards.

How it work is all members can download a sheet of these cards off the forum then cut them out into individual business size cards, all this keeps costs down.

The information on the card is the name of the club & type of bike and web address also there is a space to leave (optional) your forum name Ie: eyeballed by D J.

The Idea is if you see a certain type of bike Ie Honda Blackbird in this case, you hand a card over to it's owner (perhaps have quick chat) or if the bikes parked up you just leave it on the dash 'this is the point when the alarm go's off  Embarassed  Embarassed  Embarassed ''.

If the recipient of the card joins the club/forum there is a place on the enrolment page for them to state who eyeballed them and then the eyeballer gets a referral point, in this case points dont mean prizes, it's just a bit of fun Confused
